How To Find A Counsellor

1. Start with NHS Talking Therapies (Free).

You can often refer yourself without seeing a GP first. NHS Talking Therapies can help with anxiety, depression, stress, panic, phobias, and related issues.

Find your local service: NHS Talking Therapies Finder.

2. Use a Professional Therapist Directory

For private counselling, only look for therapists registered with recognised professional bodies.
The NHS specifically recommends checking that private counsellors are on accredited registers such as BACP or UKCP.

Good directories include:

BACP Therapist Directory

UKCP - Find a Therapist
